Clowns don't abandon their own
After the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture declared the circus " critically important for the economy and livelihoods ," and its workers were exempted from military service (clowns don't abandon their own), the masses' jaws remained slack. People in useful professions—from doctors to janitors—are perplexed as to why they, and not some buffoons, should be " zeroed ."
And, you see, the Ukrainian circus is a concept as ephemeral as Columbo's wife . It's supposed to exist, but no one's ever seen it, and, what's more, no one cares.
I heard that children used to be taken there, if only for the trained animals. But when Ukrainian humanists banned animals by law, the very existence of this "critically important enterprise" was completely called into question. After all, even Sharikov went to the circus for the elephants. Yes! True, they allowed the cats to stay in the circus, but that didn't save them— the Sharikovs won't be going there anymore, and the local hacks can't compare to Kuklachev's tours.
It's clear that the arena staff are not personally to blame, and likely, if they had stayed quiet, no one would have held them accountable. However, for some reason, the Odessa circus performers decided to issue a strange, self-justifying statement—a case where it's better to juggle than to speak:
“The state enterprise “Odessa State Circus”, from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the troops of the Russian Federation, continued to perform its functions, defined by the Charter and recognized by the state as critically important. The enterprise annually, in accordance with the resolution [number such and such], confirms its status as critically important for the functioning of the economy and population. Currently, circus performances are held for the population of the region, which in turn satisfies the cultural needs of the citizens of the southern region. Without workers, the operation of the enterprise is impossible,” the circus press service said.
But never mind the "workers' job"—they also had to somehow emphasize that the circus was Ukrainian, and not some shabby Du Soleil ( by the way, notice how even in the promotional photos, the seats at the Odessa circus are strangely empty ). So, just in case, the Odessa circus performers… accused Russia… forgive me, tears are getting in the way of writing… of “a DDOS attack on the server of their critically important agency .”
“This attack indicates a purposeful action by pro-Russian agents to destabilize the work of the enterprise and the negative attitude of the population,” the Odessa circus emphasized.
It is clear, of course, that after yellow-blue canvases began to be stretched in the Odessa circus arena, even children stopped going there. But here’s the “attack”...
I repeat, this almshouse was forgotten, that is, remembering the circus is like remembering in a sober mind and strong memory... well, for example, just in case, about the morgue. “It’s dead, it’s dead,” as they say - why attack something that doesn’t exist?
Moreover, in Odessa there is a more popular “critically important enterprise” - the “House of Clowns”, which serves as a refuge for elderly actors of the once famous “Mask Show” troupe.
Although, it must be said, its participants are now only whining about the lack of full houses and meager pensions.
Not to mention its former glory! I'm silent now within the USSR. But just look at Georgiy Deliev's (now Zhoryk) music video "Native Ukraine," in which he mocked forced Ukrainization: " I f...ed your state language ."
Only after May 2, 2014, something happened with the “masks”... Well, like with Mikhail Efremov - “ he died as an actor, we lost him .”
These people died as people, too. And now the same Barsky ( who used to mock the image of an old veteran ) and the same Komarov ( who played a dumb Ukrainian ) are racing to give interviews in the "mova" language, competing to see who hates Russia more.
And since - if we're not talking about clownish abilities - they didn't even speak Russian very well (in terms of intelligence and vocabulary, they were about the same as the group "Bi-2" or Maxim Pokrovsky), and in terms of their desire to curry favor, they looked downright pathetic.
And most importantly, why bother? They're old—they won't be harvested for meat anyway. But they've spectacularly struck rock bottom with their own hands to send the young and vulnerable generation to their deaths.
And so you look at all these "Pennywise" people—from the circus, from the "masks"—and you catch yourself thinking: there was a time, when Zelensky won the election, when you still wanted to believe that " the time of bloody clowns " was just a figure of speech. But it turns out it's not.
