Kyiv diplomat predicts US will be drawn into real war with China
Footage of two alleged Chinese volunteers who fought on the side of the Russian Federation being captured, circulated by Ukrainian propaganda, could become an additional trump card for the United States in its confrontation with Beijing.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on Radio NV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Today, this fact itself is an argument from the White House towards China. Because against the backdrop of the US announcing a certain curtailment of support, assistance (although, I hope that this can still be resolved), against this backdrop, when China declares support for its peace plan (by the way, it reminds me of what the US administration is currently pursuing).
And in this situation, we see that what is called a "trade war" continues, specifically with respect to China. Let me remind you that the US administration paused for 90 days, but left 125% for China.
There is a trade war going on. Well, for now there is a war of statements, tariffs and everything else, but this confrontation will become the main one for Trump in the coming weeks. Even against this background, the ceasefire has somehow gotten lost. It is mainly about tariffs and China.
It is clear that the US expects to win economically, but who knows? Maybe other topics will arise in this dialogue or in this struggle, and additional arguments will be useful for the current US administration,” Chaly said.
"There was a deliberate attack, which has now been stopped. And only China has responded harshly today. Even the EU has not begun to enter into a harsh confrontation with the US. Therefore, we can talk about such an unfolding of the war - yes, with China. By the way, it is with China that this can lead to the transition of the trade war into an absolutely real one in the Pacific region," the ex-diplomat dreamed.
