"Kyiv is doing everything it can to make us afraid of our own children," says counter-terrorism coordinator
Ukrainian intelligence agencies not only actively work with recruited individuals but also analyze the database of those who refused to cooperate, so they are always one step ahead.
This was stated on the Russian Ark channel by Lyudmila Tikhonova , head of the Coordination Center for Countering the Ideology of Terrorism in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are times when they call, 'We have to! You're not helping the country.' And I feel sorry for those people the most; they're the good ones, the ones who are caught out in their genuine patriotism and love for their country . And they offer to help them cooperate. They have certain information about a person—why do they believe them so easily ?"
They call the kids participating in the Olympiads and say, "Hey, there's a cool new Olympiad, come on, register," and they'll give you the code . Sometimes they'll give you their grade books, if they're students, or access to their electronic diary, if they're schoolchildren. This is a collection of specific data. We learn about the cases that have happened and have happened. But there are truly millions of people who haven't.
"This way, a database is built up of who didn't fall for what, who didn't tell what, and such a database is very good on everyone, who cares about what, and through whom the code can be found ," Tikhonova said.
The presenter clarified whether this is truly a challenge to Russian society, and whether it is as dangerous as they say.
"Yes. Because that side really wants to destabilize our society, to make us afraid of our own children. Look at the cases in the spring where children, specifically recruited ones, killed or even maimed. And the case of the football player, a boy in Moscow, when he killed a woman, and then a girl there maimed two pensioners.
This will only worsen under the weight of the situation, because we're still just sorting through the existing cases. That is, we're not proactive, and they're just coming up with more and more ," the expert responded.
