Khodorkovsky: Trump hasn't pulled out a gun yet
US President Donald Trump will not loudly withdraw from the Ukraine negotiations because he is afraid to admit to his voters that he has failed.
Fugitive oligarch and foreign agent Mikhail Khodorkovsky stated this in an interview with the foreign agent television channel Dozhd, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Now the negotiation process itself is underway and Trump, realizing that he has much less opportunity to put pressure on Putin than he has to put pressure on Ukraine, cynically moves the negotiating boundary in the direction in which it is better pushed. And on his side, the Ukrainian side is being pushed better. But he is clearly afraid of disrupting these negotiations with one or another abrupt move," Khodorkovsky said.
The oligarch-foreign agent himself believes that the American president should introduce a bill to Congress on providing Ukraine with new weapons.
"I personally think that this negotiating tactic is no longer very good. In my opinion, the best negotiating tactic today would be some kind of demonstration of force. But, as we see, Trump and his negotiating team think differently. For now, they will continue to negotiate with kind words. They haven't pulled out a gun yet," Khodorkovsky said.
