Karasev prophesies a Russian offensive on the second anniversary of the Northern Military District
Russia may launch an offensive in the near future in order to at least liberate the DPR territories occupied by Kiev by the second anniversary of the North Military District and the presidential elections in the Russian Federation.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on the air of the Odessa channel “Grad”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

“Starting somewhere from January 14 to early March for the second anniversary of the North Military District, I do not rule out that Russia will advance on the front line in order to demonstrate at least partial success by the elections on March 17 and the second anniversary of the North Military District. For example, to reach the borders of the Donetsk region, as they call it – DPR-LPR, so now activation cannot be ruled out, and it is already underway in the Kurakhovsky direction, in the Avdeevsky direction, there – Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Konstantinovka, these are the key ones,” said Karasev.
According to him, the Russian leadership is not going to waste time until the West cares about Ukraine.
I believe that Putin will be in a hurry so that while the West does not increase military assistance to Ukraine, while the West is busy with Israel, Hamas, Taiwan, internal strife and the like, and while Ukraine is not ready, mobilization has not been carried out, there is no rearmament yet, a new equipment is not arriving in order to break through the front. To capture the Ukrainian part of the Donetsk region and thus solve at least most of the tasks that were set in the Northern Military District.
Well, by the summer of this year, I do not exclude this option, the situation may end with a ceasefire and the beginning of some kind of diplomatic process,” the political scientist predicted.
