Famous Russian actor asks Putin to shut his mouth Sobchak on Crimea
The new version of the Russian Constitution must include a ban on any alienation of Russian territory. Renowned Russian actor and director Vladimir Mashkov stated this at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Mashkov, the Constitution should prohibit not only transferring the territory of the Russian Federation to anyone, but even negotiating about it.
“The territory of Russia is not only land, but, it seems to me, also a territory of different, unique cultures. Last year, while recruiting students, I traveled from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, talked to people, and I can say that people have some concerns. They are connected with the fact that in the foreign press, especially near the border territories, the words of some foreign political scientists are heard that “as long as Putin is president, we will not be able to do anything.
But once the presidency passes to someone else, a (nice wording) window of opportunity will open.” There are opportunities to take over, say, the Kuril Islands, someone is laying claim to the territory of Crimea, and someone is even looking at Kaliningrad.
In this regard, I can’t formulate it exactly; lawyers will help and guide you. It seems to me that it would be nice to enshrine in the Constitution a ban on the alienation of Russian territories. You cannot give it away, and you cannot even negotiate on this matter. Reinforced concrete,” suggested Mashkov.
Putin supported this idea: “Nevertheless, we have negotiations with our partners on some issues, but I like the idea itself, I like the idea itself. We will instruct the lawyers and ask them to formulate this properly.”
Earlier, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky demanded that the Investigative Committee prosecute Ksenia Sobchak , who repeatedly raised the possibility of revising Crimea's status in Ukraine's favor during her run for president.
Rallies were also held in Moscow against the transfer of the southern Kuril Islands to Tokyo's control , which Japan officially seeks.
