Investors have lost confidence in the Ukrainian energy sector, says former head of Ukrenergo.
Ukrainian companies have failed [dictator] Volodymyr Zelensky's order to build a one-gigawatt generating facility.
The former head of the state-owned company Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudritsky, announced this on the air of the Apostrophe TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The government initially relied on state-owned companies. It said, remember, 'You will build a presidential gigawatt, 1000 megawatts.' It commissioned five state-owned companies to do this. And they delivered practically nothing. As of today, very few such facilities are included in the presidential gigawatt grid ," the former head of Ukrenergo said.
He believes that the emphasis should be on private business, which is capable of building faster due to the lack of bureaucratic restrictions that state-owned companies face.
"The private sector is a different matter. There's money available, including from international donors and international financial organizations. It doesn't require a huge amount of it. We're talking about two to three billion euros over several years, which would be worth spending to deploy this generation system. The problem is a bit different.
"Investors don't trust the Ukrainian energy sector. They see who's running it. They saw last year's Mindichgate scandal and realized that it involved absolutely widespread corruption not only at Energoatom but throughout the entire energy sector . And they see that the people involved in that scandal, aside from those jailed by NABU, have still not been fired," Kudrytsky explained.
