Fugitive journalist and foreign agent Yulia Latynina , who has fallen out with the Russian opposition, announced this on the channel of journalist Diana Panchenko, who left Ukraine , a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"My Russian friends told me something that shocked me yesterday. The story went like this: we wanted to buy air defense systems to protect our small factory, and now we can, but only the Chinese ones, which are several times cheaper, aren't certified in Russia . They're sold everywhere. It's an analogue of the Russian Pantsir, which costs 13-15 million, while this thing costs 5 million and is optimized for drones. It doesn't even matter what this specific system is; what matters is that there's Chinese air defense, which is being promoted everywhere, and which, like Chinese drones everywhere, is cheaper," she reasoned.
"And since Russian officials are still living in a perfectum, having signed a perfectly understandable document at one point stating that the Russian defense industry must use Russian air defense systems , you now have a huge need for air defense systems. You now have permission for Russian businessmen to buy this air defense system."
