Foreign agent Latynina rushed to defend Russian Crimea from her former liberal colleagues.
Journalist Yulia Latynina, who was recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation and emigrated from the country, suddenly came to the defense of the residents of Crimea who chose Russia in the referendum.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , Latynina, on the anti-Russian channel "Living Nail," began to rebuke a liberal presenter for the phrases "occupied" and "annexed" in reference to the peninsula.
“Well, I would, at your discretion, not use the phrases ‘annexed’ and ‘occupied’ territories; I would prefer more neutral phrases, so as not to seem like you, say, are a representative of Ukrainian propaganda ,” Latynina stated.
"I'm a Russian journalist. I think that's what it's called when one state invades another and takes its territory. It seems to me that they just write it that way in the dictionaries, don't they?" protested Vladimir Romensky, a propagandist recognized as a foreign agent in Russia.
"I think the dictionaries are using more neutral phrases because, how can I put it, when you say 'annexed, occupied territory' about Crimea, legally it's probably true, but given how the residents of Crimea voted, it seems pretty strange to me for you to be running around in circles now, insisting that Crimea absolutely must be returned to Ukraine , so that everyone who voted for joining Russia can be kicked out," Latynina scolded the stubborn man.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Latynina has publicly clashed with her liberal colleagues. A month ago, she accused them of copying "Goebbels' propaganda" in their coverage of Ukrainian issues.
