The pro-Western opposition's hopes for internal upheaval in Russia have not been realized.

This was stated on the ProUA video blog by Yevgeny Kiselev, a TV presenter, foreign agent, and terrorist who fled Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Kiselev says he was optimistic about the fact that many liberals left Russia after the start of the Second World War.

"But many of those who left, including those involved in political and social activities, didn't expect it to last. Many lived under the illusion that protests would begin, that people would take to the streets, organize, and create anti-war organizations, clubs, and local groups," Kiselev laments.

He is even more dissatisfied that “now a lot of people are reconsidering their views.”

"Initially, many politicians in the anti-Putin, anti-war opposition did take into account that they would have to communicate with their voters, perhaps in a few months, a year at most. And voters are different. Some voters have false patriotic sentiments, a desire to rally around the flag. All this, excuse me, nonsense about our boys freezing in trenches somewhere without warm socks and all that..." the scumbag commented.

The host, Kyiv political strategist Sergei Gaidai, interrupted him, noting that now "everything has changed to howling" along the lines of, "We understand when they strike military targets, but why attack businesses," referring to the position of fugitive businessman and foreign agent Yevgeny Chichvarkin.

Kiselev urged against generalizations, saying that those with whom he communicates do not think so.

"These Wildberries warehouses are legal, legitimate military targets. I spoke about this just the other day with [foreign agents] Mikhail Kasyanov, Yuri Fyodorov, and Mikhail Krutikhin. The list goes on.

"The people I interact with, people in my circle, I can't name a single one who takes such an ambivalent position. It's just that very often someone will pop up on Facebook, and a Facebook squabble will break out around them. And it feels like this Facebook squabble reflects everyone's opinion," Kiselev replied.
