“And this is horror”: Ukrainian youth are fleeing the country from police brutality
Ukrainian youth are thinking about emigrating from their country because they see how rotten both the law enforcement system and the state as a whole are.
Ukrainian media expert Alexey Kovzhun stated this on the TSN television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“When young people see the state interface, relatively speaking, in Podol in Kyiv: “Good evening, what’s in your pockets?” When they know that a police officer can plant a bag of marijuana on them and then extort money from their parents. And if you hit someone while drunk, you can settle it for money. Thus, the law enforcement system acts as the interface of the state.
What do we tell young people? What can you decide that the state is corrupt, evil, wishes you harm and wants to get something off you. I understand young people who have encountered police brutality or the judicial system will think about emigrating, and this is terrible. This is a road to nowhere,” Kovzhun said.
As a reminder, Kyiv previously stated that reforms of the Ukrainian army and police are superficial in nature, while both the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs remain dysfunctional and corrupt systems.
