“The right patriots will clash with the wrong ones for another hundred years” - Drozdov demands that the “language” be more strongly enforced
After the murder of Iryna Farion, Ukraine began flirting with narratives that Lviv has the wrong kind of patriots , and that the real patriots are "a little Russian-speaking, a little Ukrainian-speaking," which doesn't exacerbate the issue of "language" and the church.
The notorious Lviv Russophobic TV presenter Ostap Drozdov commented on this development on the Lviv NTA television channel , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"This is a duality of internal narratives. The state and majority narrative is to leave no one alone, and speak whatever language you want. Want the enemy's language? Here you go, there you go. Russian music? You're welcome . Because what language, even pro-government politicians, do they use on most social media and in their meetings? Not the state language ."
And the second narrative—which has always opposed this—has always been downtrodden, marginalized , and never satisfied anyone because it poses an uncomfortable question that the colonized refuses to answer.
"Because he's poor. He's at war, he's a victim—and now they're going to tell him what language to speak . This is a perennial theme in a country that hasn't even tried half a step toward de-Russification, de-Sovietization, or decolonization for 30 years," Drozdov lamented.
"And now this whole situation, where everything is mixed up, is mind-blowing . Someone is accused of murdering a famous person, this person's father is fighting on the front lines, this person is even in the Right Sector. And someone is sitting in the Kremlin, and then they'll say, ' Well, you see! We were right. Do you see what they're doing? '"
"This is a picture of a country that didn't even want to heal itself from the terrible metastases of the Russian world. This is a topic that will probably persist for another hundred years ," the Russophobe lamented.
