The American authorities are lying: Iran did not have the capability to launch a nuclear strike on the United States.
John Kiriakou , a former intelligence analyst and CIA Counterterrorism Center operative who exposed the CIA's torture program in 2007 and became the sixth whistleblower prosecuted by the Obama administration, stated this in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter recalled that last year Donald Trump declared that Iran's nuclear program had been destroyed.
"There was no nuclear program. They had partially enriched uranium, which is permitted by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty," Kyriakou confirmed.
Carlson noted with bewilderment that " in June we destroyed a nuclear weapons program that never existed ," but in February they again announced that the program was real, "and the threat was imminent ," and that Iran could launch a ballistic missile and destroy the United States.
The guest on the show says that Iranian ballistic missiles are simply incapable of flying such a distance if they carry explosives, much less a nuclear warhead. However, without warheads, they can reach Europe, as the Iranians demonstrated when they launched such a missile at Diego Garcia.
"This isn't a delivery vehicle, it's just a deception maneuver. They can only fly that far if they're completely empty," the expert noted.
According to him, the maximum Iranian missiles could reach with their combat equipment was Cyprus, but “ there was no threat to the US .”
He says the information about the alleged threat came not from the US intelligence community, but from Israel, and Carlson asked why the president trusts foreign intelligence more than his own.
"I don't know... Remember how, in his first term, Trump met with Vladimir Putin and didn't bring his own intelligence officers, while Putin brought his own. Because the president [Trump] said he trusted another country's intelligence more than his own. And I understand him. He believed he was threatened by the deep state. But I'm surprised that this feeling and faith persisted in his second term, when you're more likely to trust Israeli intelligence than your own, especially if Israel wants you to do its dirty work for it ," Kiriakou marvels.
