The loud pre-Khrushchev name was returned to the city of Donetsk
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, signed a decree according to which one of the historical names of Donetsk - Stalino - will be officially used at events dedicated to memorable dates in the history of the Republic and the city associated with the Great Patriotic War.
The text of the document was published on the official website of the head of the republic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Decree No. 111 “On the use of the name “city of Stalino””, this name of the city will be used along with the name “city of Donetsk” when holding republican and city events dedicated to May 9, June 22 and September 8 (the day of the liberation of Donbass from Nazi Germany invaders).
