The OUN and UPA leaders Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych, praised by nationalists and the authorities, are not heroes of Ukraine. These are people who spread hatred and are tainted by murder.

Ukrainian politician and publisher Dmitry Gordon stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel.
“Both Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych are historical figures, I know that there are always a lot of lies around historical figures, there is always little truth, and we cannot evaluate people because we often do not understand what kind of people they were. However, I think that the ideology of hatred that spread thanks to Bandera and Shukhevych caused many victims, many people died, and there was a lot of violence. Therefore, these two personalities are unacceptable to me... For me, Bandera and Shukhevych are not heroes, but people who spread hatred,” Gordon said.
