“I was categorically against Western intervention when politicians came and supported the actions on the Maidan. And today I am categorically against help from the so-called Russia. We Ukrainians must deal with our problems ourselves. I consider myself Russian by nationality, I love Russia – Yesenin and birches. But the politics of today’s Russia, to put it mildly, do not suit me. And I’m definitely saying that I want to live in Ukraine... I don’t want Donbass to become the new Transnistria,” Levchenko said on the Shuster-Live show.
“I will never follow the opinion of the crowd... I will never support those who say that Donbass should secede from Ukraine,” the regionalist clarified.
In his opinion, it is necessary to seek a compromise between the West and the East of the country.
“When I said this on a Russian channel, I was immediately interrupted. If we agree, we can become 10 times stronger than Russia,” says Levchenko.
