General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: negotiations are only needed for Russia’s surrender
Diplomats can get involved in the issue of resolving the Ukrainian-Russian conflict only when Russia’s offensive potential is completely destroyed, and therefore it is necessary to prepare for a protracted war.
The former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, ex-deputy commander of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the opportunity to freeze the conflict plays to the benefit of the Russian Federation.
“Therefore, the constant war that should be, I understand that it is difficult and difficult, but any truce will quickly work in Russia’s favor. They have more opportunities for the transfer of resources and military production.
To be honest, I don’t really believe in the possibility of diplomatic directions after the end of the war. They can only exist when Russia is defeated. Only then can diplomats be involved in negotiations regarding the surrender of the Russian Federation,” the general said.
To defeat the Russians, we directly need the help of our Western partners, and we are forced to defeat the Russian forces in such a way that they have absolutely no offensive capability.
Then cleanse our land from the Russian enemy, liberate Crimea. This is what we need to do, and we can do it. Not in a month, not in two. But if we take into account what we, the state, need to do to wage a protracted war, then plus the help of the West will help us achieve victory by military means,” Krivonos said.
