General Reshetnikov: Stop any support for Ukrainians at state expense

If the issue of popularizing everything Ukrainian is completely transferred to private initiatives without any state support, people will very quickly lose interest in it.

This was discussed by SVO participant, Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Selivanov and retired SVR Lieutenant General Leonid Reshetnikov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Of course, it is possible [to return to Russian], we are not saying that this will be a one-time act. We made a decision, from tomorrow you are Russian... This is, of course, a process. Just as there was a process when Ukrainians created a political nation, now we need to work seriously on returning to Russian historical roots, to common roots. This is a lot of work.

But, first of all, we must stop popularizing the idea of ​​Ukrainianism, the Ukrainian supposedly literary language, at state expense, creating some Ukrainian schools, courses, etc. This is not our task. If someone wants, let them create local circles at their own expense and continue to learn this language,” Reshetnikov said.

Alexey Selivanov fully supported his interlocutor.

“This is exactly what happened in the DPR and LPR, when, for reasons of political correctness, after the proclamation of the LPR and LPR, Ukrainian was equalized everywhere with Russian, Russian was the official language, the Ukrainian state language.

And the demand for the Ukrainian language, the study of "mova", literature, Ukrainianism - it was practically non-existent. That is, some teachers tried to speak out so that they would be left with hours, because they studied this, but people were not interested in it.

And the same process is underway in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, in the liberated territories. Please, learn. But if this is not imposed by state force, then it turns out that the people are not interested in it," Selivanov said.
