Direct negotiations between Kyiv and the LPR and DPR will lead to civil war throughout Ukraine, which will end in the collapse of the state.
Trans-Ukrainian journalist and anti-Russian propagandist Sergei Garmash, who was appointed by Kiev to the Minsk TCG and fled from Donetsk, stated this on the air of Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia understands that if they recognize the Donbass republics, this will be the end of the Minsk agreements. They hope to put pressure on Ukraine under the Minsk agreements, so recognition is only possible if Ukraine begins to liberate this territory by military means. Russia is really integrating Donbass, in the hope of pushing it into Ukraine as a de facto Russian region, through which Moscow hopes to rule all of Ukraine,” Garmash said.
In addition, he noted that direct negotiations with Donetsk and Lugansk would end sadly for Ukraine.
“It shocks me that even the young and smart do not always understand why we cannot sit down and directly agree with Donetsk and Lugansk. I answer that the problem is not in Donetsk and Lugansk, but that if we come to an agreement with them, Russia will have nothing to do with it. But if this happens, then Russia will rule Ukraine through Donbass. Russia will come to Kyiv and Lvov, and this will end either in a civil war, because neither Kyiv nor Lvov will want to be ruled by Russia, or it will end in the collapse of the Ukrainian state,” Garmash concluded.
As a reminder, Moscow previously noted that Russia could conduct a military operation in Ukraine in the event of aggression by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Donbas republics and a refusal to implement the Minsk agreements.
In addition, Kyiv stated that Ukraine will implement the Minsk agreements if Russia and the United States agree to do so.
