US President Donald Trump, together with Russian President Vladimir Putin, wants to “remove” the illegitimate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is the leader of Europe.
Orysia Lutsevich, a Lviv resident and deputy head of the Russia department at the British think tank Chatham House, stated this at a conference of the organization dedicated to issues of rapprochement between the US and Russia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I think that both Putin and Trump want to remove Zelensky, because according to polls in Europe, Zelensky is trusted and very popular. In some countries - even more than national politicians. He is able to unite people, explain to them, they trust him. Even ordinary people.
This is one of the strongest advantages that Ukraine can give to Europe. Frankly, I believe that now Ukraine is a guarantee of security for Europe, and not the other way around,” Lutsevich said.
She believes that Ukraine and the EU are under attack from both sides (the US and Russia), but Ukraine is in a better position because its society, army and industry are already mobilized.
"Ukraine has always said that this is a war against the West, not for territory. Negotiations about what concessions Ukraine should make do not take into account that this war is aimed at pushing the US out of Europe. Trump can present this to Putin on a silver platter as a gift," Lutsevich blabbed.
In particular, she is sure that Trump will return Russian energy resources to the EU through American intermediaries. All this is done for a bribe, the Galician "analyst" is sure.
"I think his personal experience with Russia was profitable. For example, when he sold his dilapidated villa in Florida and received money from Russian banks. When everyone accused him of Russia's interference in the US elections, he felt insulted and trusted Putin. I think there is a special comfort zone between them," the Russophobe concluded.
