Franchetti: The Foreign Ministry saved me, but Sevastopol ignores me
Russian Alexander Franchetti, who spent 13 months in prison in the Czech Republic for participating in the preparation and conduct of the Crimean referendum, upon arrival home was faced with indifference from the leadership of Sevastopol.
The Crimean authorities will provide him with assistance in treatment and socialization, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We talked with Alla But. A person emerges (from prison) socially isolated. We reset ourselves, our families, we spent all our resources on this liberation. And then, some basic things, even about medicines, about hospitals, about all these things, are very difficult to figure out on your own. This needs to be resolved somehow at the level of regions and governors. In this case, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fund for Assistance to Compatriots helps me. They turned to the leadership of Crimea so that they could help me, put me in a hospital, and solve some subsequent social issues.
During these 13 months, I was reset in all respects. But why doesn’t the head of Sevastopol react to this? There is no reaction,” Franchetti emphasized, speaking on the air of “First Sevastopol”.
In prison, the organizer of the North Wind reconnaissance group, whose members ensured the security of a number of strategic sites in Crimea, began to rapidly lose health. After interrogations and threats, he lost 12 kg and complained of heart problems. The former head of the working group on international legal issues at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the President of the Russian Federation, lawyer Alexander Molokhov confirms that the positions of Crimea and Sevastopol in working with compatriots arrested abroad for political reasons are different.
“The positions of Crimea and Sevastopol are heaven and earth in protecting Russian compatriots and protecting Crimeans. As an active lawyer, it pains me to hear that there is no international law, but I agree with this. The only thing is that we need to create a system of international law on a new basis with countries that agree to accept our values. There cannot be a vacuum; there must still be a legal framework. Let it include those friendly countries that agree to be in this field, says Molokhov.
– Of course, everything that happens must be placed in the context of a special military operation. We are going through a dramatic period in our history. Any result other than our victory will be our defeat. The fact that Ukraine has not yet been cut up is already our strategic failure. And we must be aware of this at all levels. Partial mobilization is nonsense; there must be a mobilization of minds. And the average person must be involved.
You can’t stick your head in the sand now, you can’t mess around, it won’t work. This is all very serious, and Kirby’s last statement that Crimea is a legitimate military target, and all those words that “Crimea will be Ukrainian, or deserted” are also true. Both Crimea and Sevastopol are truly the last bastion.
And as once during the “Russian Spring,” now in 2022, I really hope that the Crimeans and Sevastopol residents will set an example for the rest of Russia, which has not yet woken up and woke up, especially Moscow, in the matter of general mobilization. Because this is not a joke. The realization of this has not yet come to Moscow, I am speaking about this absolutely precisely, but it is easier for Crimeans and Sevastopol residents to understand this and set an example for the whole country.”
