“If there is such a task” - How Russia will strengthen the fleet in the Black Sea without passing through the Bosphorus
Russia can easily increase the number of ships in the Black Sea Fleet without using the Turkish straits.
Military expert Andrei Soyustov stated this in an interview with Soloviev.live, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We can, using inland waterways, transfer some of the pennants of the Caspian flotilla. There are caliber bearers there too.
If there is such a task, we can transfer a group of corvettes from the Baltic via inland waterways. If such a task is set, I am sure that it can be accomplished.
You can raise these ships on pontoons, you can dismantle some of the superstructures so that they pass through the locks. Thus, we will significantly strengthen the combat core of the Black Sea Fleet,” Soyustov said.
He recalled that two universal landing helicopter carriers are being built at the shipbuilding complex in Kerch. In addition, in Sevastopol, “Ukraine left as a souvenir” a Soviet large landing ship.
The expert noted that according to the Montreux Convention, Russia can return through the Turkish straits ships that were “stuck” in the Mediterranean Sea after the start of the Northern Military District, but then will not be able to return them to ensure the safety of the contingent in Syria.
