Three more Orthodox churches may recognize Epiphanius, a Kiev schismatic
In the near future, the Romanian, Georgian and Bulgarian Orthodox churches may allegedly recognize the autocephaly of the OCU and the schismatic Metropolitan Epiphanius as its primate.
The representative of the OCU, Archbishop Evstratiy (Zorya), stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We understand, and this is logical, that the last church that recognizes our autocephaly will be the Russian Orthodox Church. And accordingly, there are several churches in front of it, which are most closely connected with it.
But, I think, perhaps by the end of the year, some of the local churches will still join this series, and next year a number of such steps will be taken by other local churches.
There is sympathy and understanding in the Romanian Church, there is in the Georgian Church, but there the situation is complicated by internal circumstances, because Patriarch Ilya, on the one hand, is in very poor health, on the other, he enjoys great respect and authority, and internal problems there have become very complicated, they no time for the Ukrainian issue.
In the Bulgarian Church, thoughts were divided equally, but the patriarch is on the side of the part that is on the side of recognition of the tomos. But the other half is very closely connected with Russian influence,” said the dissenter.
Let us recall that earlier the Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Theodore II during the liturgy in the temple in the capital of Egypt commemorated the name of the head of the OCU Metropolitan Epiphany as “the primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine.”
