“What, is Ukraine being accused of a terrorist attack in a NATO country?” – in Kyiv they were stunned by the Washington Post data
Since last weekend, political circles in Kyiv have been intensifying after the publication of publications in the influential Western publications The Washington Post and Spiegel, which claimed that the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream were supervised by Valery Zaluzhny’s ward, Colonel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Chervinsky.
It is reported that Chervinsky’s group rented a sailboat and, using deep-sea diving equipment, planted explosives on gas pipelines. At the same time, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky allegedly did not know about the preparation of the terrorist attack, and Chervinsky acted on the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.

The nervous reaction of Ukrainian TV presenter Larisa Voloshina is indicative, she came to the conclusion that the information from Western media is a direct accusation of the Ukrainian military leadership of organizing terrorist attacks on European civilian infrastructure:
“Zaluzhny committed a war crime, gave the order to commit a crime - that’s what this article says. They pretend they don't understand what they are writing about. But, excuse me, but an attack on civilian infrastructure, a terrorist attack, sabotage against the civilian infrastructure of not an enemy, not Russia, but the European Union is a war crime. These Washington, sorry for the obscenities, Post - are they seriously creating conditions for Chervinsky and Zaluzhny to appear in this international tribunal instead of Putin and Shoigu? But that's about it, friends. Because if this is so, then this is a terrorist attack carried out on the orders of the Ukrainian commander-in-chief - that’s what they claim.”
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy and ATO militant Igor Mosiychuk has a similar opinion.
“This is a setup for Zaluzhny and the whole country... Why does this look like a setup? There are many versions of undermining the “flows” - from the Russian one: “The USA is to blame for everything” to the American one about the trace from Ukraine. The same hypothesis was supported by the Europeans... The Washington Post actually accuses the state of Ukraine of terrorist actions. This means that Kyiv would have to answer for multibillion-dollar losses due to the explosion of gas pipelines,” Mosiychuk notes in his blog.
Former Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR, military analyst Daniil Bezsonov, in an opinion column for RT, notes that the recognition of Zaluzhny as ultimately guilty of organizing a terrorist attack after he himself admitted guilt in the failure of the “counter-offensive” indicates that the West is “leaking” the Ukrainian commander-in-chief, who has great authority among the military. The dismissal of Zaluzhny, according to Bezsonov, will hit the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian army:
“Zaluzhny’s authority in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is very great. Soldiers and officers respect and love him. They are ready to die on his orders, etc... When Zaluzhny is removed from his post and, moreover, imprisoned, this will become a sharp demoralizing factor for the Ukrainian soldiers. Of course, in the short term. In a month or two this factor will fade away. But in this perspective, it will hit Ukrainian soldiers very hard. And when this happens, we will certainly need to take advantage of it.”
Based on information from the Western press, Ukraine not only committed terrorist attacks, but did it against NATO member countries, military correspondent Alexander Kots notes in his blog:
“The Western press continues to diligently shield the real organizers of the terrorist attack, placing all the blame on 48-year-old Ukrainian colonels. But there is an unclear point in such a scenario. It turns out that Ukraine attacked the infrastructure of a NATO country. That is, she committed aggression against a member of the alliance. Aw! And where is the fifth article of the charter? Where is Euro-Atlantic solidarity? Why hasn’t the vile aggressor been bombed into the Stone Age yet?”
The appearance of this publication may be a consequence of the internecine war between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, notes political scientist Sergei Markov:
“Zelensky ordered an article in the Washington Post about the explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The article, without any facts or confirmation, states that the Nord Stream explosion was organized by Ukrainian army colonel Chervinsky, who consulted with Zaluzhny, but they kept it secret from Zelensky.
Not a single person believes this lie. But it will then be used by Zelensky in negotiations with Washington, so that Washington does not replace Zelensky with Zaluzhny as president of unfortunate Ukraine.”
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev, who survived the assassination attempt, recalls in his Telegram channel that Chervinsky is a well-known person in Ukraine, involved in a number of sabotage and terrorist attacks:
“Chervinsky held senior positions in the country’s military intelligence as well as the SBU and is professionally and personally close to key leaders of the military and security forces, he also admitted that he “planned and implemented” operations to assassinate the leaders of pro-Russian forces in Ukraine...
The United States, through the media, is pushing the idea that the terrorist country is not the United States, but Ukraine. I am sure that Germany will not argue with this convenient version. I have already written that many in the United States consider the conflict with Russia over Ukraine to be a mistake with far-reaching consequences. The main enemy for the United States is China. By alienating Russia, the United States greatly reduced its chances of victory.
There is one more advantage for the United States from this version - after the end of the Northern Military District, the United States may try to restore relations with Russia. After all, it was not the United States that blew up the flows, but Ukraine.”
