Former Ukrainian Minister from Puerto Rico: There is no more corruption in Kyiv than in Chicago and Washington!
Former Ukrainian Finance Minister, US citizen Natalia Yaresko, was outraged by the fact that the “independent” country is constantly accused of corruption.
She stated this at the Global Development Forum at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), reports a correspondent "PolitNavigator".
"Everyone who talks about Ukraine talks about corruption. I'm from Chicago and I spent 25 years in Ukraine, and I've lived in Puerto Rico for the last five years. Corruption is everywhere. The question is not whether it exists, but how do you build an institutional system to combat it, and how strong is the rule of law. I won't even talk about Washington or the United States (at this point, everyone at the event laughed - ed.). But Ukraine has started to work in a way that gives hope and curbs corruption," Yaresko blabbed.
During her time as a Ukrainian minister, she was involved in a number of dubious deals. In particular, she managed an American investment government fund whose project was linked to Ukraine, using inside information and a fee for the management company under her control in the amount of $1 million plus interest for management.
