Ex-CIA director fears nuclear war with Russia

Former CIA chief Michael Morrell said the main threats to the United States are nuclear war with Russia, biological weapons and climate change.

He said this in an interview with the political project Art19 , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Morrell, the US is not paying attention to long-term problems. He noted that “an exchange of nuclear strikes with Russia remains a threat that can destroy the country.”

The second threat the former head of the CIA called “a natural or created biological agent” capable of destroying, in his words, 60–70% of the population.

“And the third thing - although some may laugh at me, but this is the absolute truth - climate change. This is an existential threat to the United States... This is an existential threat to us. And obviously we are not paying enough attention to this problem,” Morrell added.
