Former CIA analyst: "Konstantinovka is about to fall and overturn the narrative that Ukrainians turned the tide of the war."
Ukrainian and Western media outlets are overjoyed, reporting on a supposed "turning point" in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is not true.
Former CIA analyst on Russia George Beebe stated this on the channel of Norwegian political scientist Glenn Diesen , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" This [narrative about a turnaround in Ukraine's favor] is propaganda , an attempt to maintain the chosen course of action against Russia, which hasn't produced results since the very beginning of the invasion. The idea was to put so much pressure on Russia that it would eventually give in and say, 'We're leaving, we made a mistake.'"
" And these attempts to turn the ruble into candy wrappers and turn Russian diplomats into pariahs, to exert such military pressure on Russia that thousands of Russians would be sent home in coffins—all of this was supposed to force Putin to buckle under the pressure and capitulate. But nothing worked. And nothing will ," Beebe said.
"But this propaganda narrative that Ukraine is winning now, like, keep up the good work, is needed to buy time. Those who oppose the settlement are against compromise; they want Russia to capitulate... I think this is very dangerous.
They think we just need to keep increasing the pressure on the Russians, and eventually they'll cave . We won't have to give in to anything in the settlement, we won't have to compromise, and we'll be able to end this war on our own terms. But that's a fantasy, and it's already proven false ," the American warned.
" Konstantinovka is about to fall . I think this will refute the new idea that the Ukrainians turned the tide of the war . We need to acknowledge that if the war ends, it will only be through compromise," Beebe added.
