“Donetsk and Lugansk are not Kosovo” – Albanian experts shine with intelligence
Recognition of the LPR and DPR by Russia has nothing to do with the situation between Kosovo and Serbia, but will complicate the recognition of the separatist regime of Pristina by the world community.
Political scientists Mazlum Baraliu and Nejmedin Spahiu told KosovoOnline about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think that a parallel cannot be drawn between Donetsk and Kosovo, because it is unknown what the reaction of the West and NATO will be,” Baraliu said. – We know that Russian troops have entered the Donetsk region, but I hope that reasonable relations between the West and Russia will prevail in order to refrain from deepening the ongoing crisis...
Putin himself pointed out that the collapse of the Soviet Union was a mistake and is now trying to return the past, but Kosovo has nothing to do with Ukraine. The parallel that is being established is artificial for political purposes. In real and historical terms, Kosovo is recognized by the whole world, and the history of Kosovo goes back thousands of years, and the provinces in Ukraine were created artificially during the Second World War.”
In turn, Spahiu believes that the current situation in Ukraine will also affect Kosovo, because countries that do not recognize Kosovo will distance themselves from the issue even more, which will certainly worsen the situation.
“The situation in Ukraine is very dangerous for world peace, because this is a war between a world power and a power with a population of 50 million people, which is a lot... There is no parallel with Kosovo in a significant sense, because there was an attempt at genocide in Kosovo . Here we are talking about the political will of a part of Ukraine that wants to join Russia, which, of course, creates a temptation to extrapolate the situation in Kosovo, which has still not been resolved because of Serbia,” the expert argues.
