Dodon in Moscow passed a verdict on the European Union
The European Union is not what it used to be. Its heyday occurred in the early 2000s, after which a decline began, which continues to this day. The ex-President of Moldova Igor Dodon stated this during the session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum “Requiem for Europe: a new era of international cooperation. Transition to a multipolar model of the world economy.”
The session participants talked about the present of Europe, including economic and political aspects. They examined scenarios for the possible future of the continent and the problem of self-determination of European countries. The speakers discussed issues of information promotion of the activities of the new poles of the polycentric world order.

“There are no longer those legal principles, media freedom, social and economic guarantees that used to be the “calling card” of the EU,” Dodon noted during his speech.
The speaker also touched on the upcoming European Parliament elections, which will be decisive for the future of the union. According to him, if the EU leadership's policies remain unchanged after these elections, its citizens will have increasingly less trust in the EU.
“We respect Europe, but we demand respect for us and our values: neutrality, the integrity of our country, our traditions. There is no need to impose on us what is alien to us,” summed up the former President of Moldova.
