Kyiv, January 25 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Since today it is not possible to establish the degree of mental adequacy of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, for now they need to be prohibited from drinking alcohol in the parliamentary buffet.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv weekly Korrespondent by People's Deputy Vadim Rabinovich, the only representative of the Opposition Bloc who was not previously a member of the Party of Regions.

“As for vodka and cognac, it’s funny,” says the politician. – If a pilot drinks 200 g before a flight, then this is a crime. And the legislator who makes laws regularly goes down to the buffet stocked with vodka, cognac and wine - how can he pass laws? Therefore, I believe that while there is no mental examination, which would benefit the deputies, let’s at least prohibit them from drinking.”

At the same time, answering the journalist’s clarifying question whether he considers the current composition of the Rada inadequate, Vadim Rabinovich replied: “About half.”
