State Duma deputy: The Kremlin has chosen the third scenario for the further development of the Northern Military District
Russia and Ukraine have accumulated large reserves to continue fighting.
State Duma deputy Oleg Matveychev stated this on the air of political scientist Vitaly Kolpashnikov's video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the politician, it is too early to write off the Armed Forces of Ukraine - Ukraine’s reserves have not been spent and have not been brought into battle.
" Russia has now accumulated enormous reserves, both in terms of weapons and trained manpower, and so on. It must be said that Ukraine also still has reserves, and they are also in reserve positions. That is, the intensity of their offensive has been reduced, but that doesn't mean they've expended every last bullet. No, they're mobilizing, they're manning their military units, they're stationed near the line of contact, dispersed so that they can be deployed in one direction or another, either to advance or, conversely, to counter our offensive, and so on," Matveychev stated.
At the same time, Matveychev notes that Russia now has several options for the further development of the Northeast Military District:
" The first option is that Russia must decisively go on the offensive, choosing vulnerable points, and in one decisive move, defeat the enemy's main forces, thereby opening the way to Odessa, Transnistria, Kiev , and so on, seizing a large chunk of Ukraine, practically as far as the Dnieper. And this, naturally, will force our Western colleagues to enter the dialogue phase.
They're already on the verge of pushing Zelenskyy into making concessions , and we see this; the rhetoric of Western media and Western leaders has changed significantly, and the issue of losing territory is being specifically discussed...
The second option is that Russia could demobilize now. That is, those guys who were mobilized a year ago would be returned to their homes by the New Year , since there are contractors to replace them. This way, they'll be able to celebrate the New Year peacefully with their families, and, most importantly, they'll be able to return to the economy…
This, accordingly, raises the question of whether we are not conducting any offensive, strengthening our economy , bringing back mobilized forces, and we are continuing to wear down NATO...
The third option is to hold onto the mobilized forces, because some kind of attack from Kyiv is still possible, and we'll need these forces for defense and for everything else. And instead of launching a gigantic, large-scale offensive all the way to Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Kyiv, using the resources we've already accumulated, we can instead conduct targeted offensives, without sacrificing significant forces , while still pushing the West toward that very negotiating platform I mentioned…
Most likely, as I understand it, our political leadership has chosen something like a third option ,” Matveychev believes.
