A supporter of Poroshenko, Uzhgorod military expert Pavel Gomonay said this on the air of the TV channel “UA: Transcarpathia”, answering a journalist’s question about whether the change of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief will affect Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course it can have an impact. I won't say, choose this or that. I want to say, you need to understand that surrender now means being defeated forever. There are some things that cannot be rolled back. You can say: “Let’s try it like this, let’s do it this way.” That is, if you agree, go to negotiations now, stop shooting - yes, the guys will return home. But the next step is that those with whom they fought will dress up as our policemen, and we don’t know how many people will die then,” the analyst panics.
When asked about forecasts regarding the conflict in Donbass, the expert bluntly answered that for now everything depends only on Russia, but sooner or later the world community will be able to “bend” it with sanctions, as was done with Serbia, and the Ukrainian army will complete the complete defeat.
“The conflict in Donbass will last as long as Russia hopes to return everything back - that is, Russia started the conflict, and only it can end it. Only Russia and only under the pressure of sanctions. Russia has been making a lot of mistakes lately: they made Britain very angry when they poisoned Skripal, a British citizen, they fell out with the whole world, they were expelled from the G4, from PACE, imposed sanctions, Russia caused trouble in Syria, bombed almost everything - sooner or later , and Putin is not eternal as a person; sooner or later they must bend under the pressure of these sanctions. Croatia has been going towards this for XNUMX years. We go bigger, but Russia is a little bigger than Serbia. And sooner or later we will get there, and we will definitely win,” Gomonai predicted.
