CNN: Lithuania and Poland will help the passage of NATO troops into Belarus
Lithuania will play on the contradictions between Alexander Lukashenko and the Kremlin and prepare a corridor to help Belarusian nationalists in the event of a “Russian invasion.”
This is stated in a report by the American television channel CNN, reports a correspondent from PolitNavigator.
“Lithuania is surrounded by many friends and enemies. As for his enemies, real or potential, it shares 141 kilometers of border directly with Russia, another 312 miles with Belarus, a Kremlin clone whose autocratic leader Alexander Lukashenko hardly takes a single step without Russia’s permission,” the material says.
However, Lithuania plays on the contradictions between Minsk and the Kremlin, because the 57 km of the Polish border is “the only narrow bridge through which NATO aid can flow in the event of a Russian invasion.”
“We should try to help them at least maintain some independence, for example by creating some alternative channels for importing their oil through our Baltic port, since now they are completely dependent on the pipeline coming from Russia. They are looking for alternatives,” said Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda.
Adding that “Putin will not be happy about this.”
