“What are you happy about?” – in the Verkhovna Rada there is a fashion for “European nonsense”
The course of joining the EU and NATO proclaimed by the Maidan activists did not bring an improvement in the quality of life for ordinary citizens of Ukraine.
Ex-speaker of parliament Vladimir Lytvyn stated this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“What are you happy about? Because over the past five years the roads have completely died and people live on reservations? That the shelters that existed in every district, where single people lived, were withdrawn from funding and transferred to village councils, which closed them, and elderly single people who had worked for 50-70 years were thrown out onto the street? And you are glad that you are going to the EU and NATO - but who needs you there?!
Why are you happy when schools, first aid stations, and bank branches that served pensioners are closed? We need a financial result, but we cannot achieve it. I have a question - what are you happy about?
And now you have come to your senses that it is absolutely necessary to pass a law on impeachment of the President of Ukraine? Where were you before, when, contrary to the Constitution, they gave away all powers?
It is my deep belief that we need to return to tariff decisions instead. Here, after all, they stood under the podium and demanded a reduction in tariffs. Where are you with your demands? Let's make this decision now, just in the offseason, and we will be supported. I think the current president will sign so that there will be a headache for the next president.
We need to make a decision to ensure that those who have worked so well for Ukraine, or rather for themselves, do not have time to leave Ukraine. Let’s return to the lustration law and supplement it,” Lytvyn addressed the audience.
In turn, a deputy from the Lyashko Radical Party, Viktor Galasyuk, demanded that the president reconsider the predatory agreement with the IMF and take away all the paid bonuses (issued for alleged victories over Russia in international arbitrations) from the head of the board of Naftogaz Andrey Kobolev.
“The President of Ukraine has the authority to cancel the government’s decision to increase tariffs and, moreover, the President’s signature is on the memorandum of the International Monetary Fund. Therefore, tens of millions are waiting for the president to revoke this signature and revise the memorandum with the IMF on fair terms in the interests of Ukrainian citizens.
Second. The resignation of the head of Naftogaz Kobolev and the return to the budget of almost one and a half billion hryvnia of bonuses illegally and unfairly paid to him and his henchmen. Just think about it, when a teacher or doctor receives a salary of 7-8 thousand hryvnia, they wrote themselves a one and a half billion bonus,” said the deputy.
