Kyiv's first argument is that the front line isn't advancing as quickly as Russia would like. They also threatened to expand the drone kill zone, which would further slow the advance of the Russian Armed Forces.

Furthermore, Ukrainian officials believe that Russia is in a difficult economic situation, and that continued attacks on the Russian oil industry will ultimately lead to social unrest.

"They said the front was at a standstill, we had weapons and money for two years of war. I argued that they did indeed have it. They currently have $56 billion in gold and foreign exchange reserves for a year of war, plus a number of programs that had been launched earlier," Tsarev said.

He added to this the unblocked 90 billion loan, which will make it possible to fight for another couple of years.

"They said we don't need American weapons or American support; we already have everything, and we can fight comfortably for a year. Successful mobilization is underway. We know how it's going, but it's happening nonetheless. And based on this, on these factors, they suggested the United States take its time reaching agreements with Russia, because within a year or two, Russia's negotiating position could soften significantly," the politician stated.
