Switch to Latvian quickly! – An ultimatum was given to the "good Russians" who fled to the Baltics.
In Latvia, even the so-called “good Russians” – liberals who fled to the West – are distrusted because they only criticize the Russian government but adhere to imperial views, viewing the Baltics as a historical part of Russia.
This was stated by the Saeima deputy Arturs Butans on the air of the RFI in Russian television channel, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.

" We're generally quite critical of the Russian opposition, too , because, for example, 10 years ago, after the annexation of Crimea, many representatives of the Russian opposition came to the Baltic states. And while they did important work in telling the truth about Putin's policies, not all of them fully accepted the rules and laws that apply here.
"For example, when creating media, they didn't always use Latvian. It's important to understand: not everyone who opposes Putin simultaneously opposes Russian imperialism . Some of these people still view the Baltic states not as sovereign states, but rather as some kind of extension of Russian space , where everything should be in Russian," Butans stated.
