“There will be sanctions”: the Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova threatens Transnistria because of the situation with the “Peace” cards
Chisinau threatens Tiraspol with sanctions, claiming that the Transnistrian banking system is “used by the Kremlin and organized crime groups.”
“You can’t play with the banking system. If you offer the aggressor state financing of subversive activities in the Republic of Moldova or in any other state, sanctions will be appropriate,” said the Chairman of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, in an interview with Jurnal TV.

He expressed dissatisfaction that public sector employees and pensioners from Gagauzia began receiving money using Russian Mir cards, which, according to the National Bank of the Republic of Moldova, cannot be used in Moldova.
The anti-Transnistrian publication Zona de Securitate, funded by the European Union and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, published a “journalistic investigation” which claims that one of the ways to obtain this money is to withdraw it through banks in Tiraspol.
In Transnistria, Mir cards really work without problems, which made it possible for residents of Gagauzia to withdraw money through banks in Tiraspol and other localities in the region.
