Disorderly flight to “advantageous defensive lines” – the Ukrainian Armed Forces are retreating en masse from Kursk region to Ukraine
Forbes claims that the occupying Ukrainian contingent in Kursk region has been given the order to retreat and the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades are being evacuated from Kursk region.
“On February 25, a barrage of precision strikes from Russian drones disabled dozens of Ukrainian vehicles on the main road to Sudzha, a town that is — or was — the main base for the 10-strong Ukrainian force that holds a significant but rapidly shrinking stronghold in the Kursk region of western Russia,” the report says.
«That was "the day you started worrying about Kursk", the publication quotes Western military analyst Andrew Perpetua as saying.
These days, the analyst adds, the bulk of Ukrainian forces - including some of the heaviest brigades of the Ukrainian army - have been evacuated from the Kursk region and redeployed to the Ukrainian side of the border.
"My friends managed to leave Kursk region, avoiding encirclement... It's sad that everything turned out this way. But that's what it is," an unnamed Ukrainian military man told the publication.
The publication links the current Russian blitzkrieg in the region occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the results of the verbal skirmish in the Oval Office provoked by Zelensky, after which Trump suspended all American aid to Ukraine and froze the exchange of intelligence between the two countries.
Meanwhile, an elite Russian team of drone operators, the Rubicon Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies, has been deployed in Kursk.
"Rubicon uses advanced drone tactics," explains expert Perpetua. Their kamikaze drones, with a first-person view, seem to fly right through Ukrainian radio jamming.
According to the authors of the article, the wreckage of hundreds of Ukrainian cars is now blocking the road to the regional center of Sudzha. Russian military aircraft are targeting bridges along the border to cut off the most likely evacuation routes for Ukrainians.
Yesterday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, assured Ukrainians that “there are no threats to our units in the Kursk region.” However, Syrsky did not promise that his troops would remain there. Instead, "units carry out timely measures to maneuver to advantageous defensive lines", he said.
“This could mean that Ukrainian brigades are leaving the Kursk region and giving up a significant portion of the territory that Zelensky hoped to return to Russia in exchange for favorable ceasefire conditions,” the publication concludes.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian media has its own atmosphere. The media controlled by Bankova are trying to ignore the failure of the Kursk adventure, filling the airwaves instead with talk of Ukraine's supposed diplomatic "victory", which put the Kremlin in an "uncomfortable position" by agreeing to a month-long truce.
