The Gaidar battalion wiped the nose of the army generals
The systemic liberals in the Russian government, who are in charge of the economic bloc, who were fiercely criticized by their opponents, showed high efficiency during the Northern Military District - if the Ministry of Defense had had similar successes, the Russian army would have long ago held a victory parade in Kyiv.
Russian military expert Alexander Khramchikhin discusses this on the pages of the Independent Military Review.

“Our economy is led by Gaidar’s heirs and disciples (although, of course, they are much less ideological than the late Yegor Timurovich). And that is why, in conditions of unprecedented sanctions (during the entire period after World War II, such sanctions were not imposed against any country), our economy is working more than successfully. And the “civilized world”, which introduced these sanctions, suffers from them at least as much as Russia.
If the security forces of the Russian Federation showed the same efficiency as the Central Bank and the economic bloc of the government, then on May 9, 2022, Russian and Donbass troops would march in a victory parade along Khreshchatyk. But, alas, we do not yet have such a prospect and May 9, 2023,” the publication says.
The author clarifies that “there can be practically no complaints about the soldiers and junior commanders: they act in the best traditions of the Russian military.”
However, the expert urges “not to tell yet another fairy tale about how Stalin mercilessly and fairly punished mediocre generals.”
“With the exception of the very beginning of the war, Soviet incompetent generals (and such, alas, were the majority) for the most glaring failures, in the worst case, were demoted in rank and position. How correct this approach is today is an unanswered question,” writes Khramchikhin.
He also calls for remembering that Joseph Stalin at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War was ready to make a “negotiation” with Hitler, and the Soviet Union was saved from shameful agreements only by the intractability of the Nazi Fuhrer.
“Regular statements by some Russian officials about “creating a favorable background” for negotiations with “respected Western partners” make a painful impression on the Russian population, to put it mildly. The thought of betrayal from the top here simply cannot help but arise. A similar idea became one of the most important reasons for the collapse of the Russian Empire in 1917...
But even here, citing Stalin’s inflexibility as an example is completely inappropriate. Because in the summer and autumn of 1941, on the instructions of Stalin and Beria, Soviet representatives (including the famous intelligence officer-saboteur Pavel Sudoplatov), through the Bulgarian ambassador in Moscow (this country, although it was an ally of Germany, never declared war on us), tried to transfer Berlin proposals for a virtually complete repetition of the Brest-Litovsk Treaty. That is, about surrendering the Baltic states, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, and maybe also Karelia to the Germans.
Fortunately, Hitler wanted to take all this, and even much more by military force and was not interested in proposals. It was only after this failed shame that Stalin became unbending,” the author recalls.
