“The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has issued an order according to which, from today, the fighters of the Aidar volunteer battalion must leave the ATO zone in full force. Aidar battalion commander Sergei Melnichuk told me in a telephone conversation that he considers such an order criminal, since it could lead, at a minimum, to the occupation by militants of the city of Shchastya and the disruption of the electoral process in part of the liberated territories of the Lugansk region, and therefore it cannot be carried out is going,” Vsevolod Filimonov said on his Facebook page.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Aidar Battalion had previously mined the Luhansk Thermal Power Plant to prevent it from falling into the hands of the rebels.
