Kyiv, March 20 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Armenia and Kazakhstan recognized the referendum on the annexation of Crimea to Russia, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has already expressed protest, and Ukrainian nationalists demand the immediate recall of ambassadors from these republics.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan recognized the referendum in Crimea as legal, he stated this in a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin.

"The interlocutors touched upon the situation that arose following the referendum in Crimea and stated that this is yet another example of the realization of the right of peoples to self-determination through free expression," the Armenian leader's press service reported.

The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement regarding the situation in Crimea:

“Kazakhstan perceived the referendum held in Crimea as a free expression of the will of the population of this Autonomous Republic and understands the decision of the Russian Federation in the current conditions,” the statement says.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has already expressed protest against the position of the member countries of the Customs Union, reports the press service of the foreign ministry.

And the head of the Svoboda faction, Oleg Tyagnibok, at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada demanded to immediately freeze diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan and Armenia. “We demand the immediate recall of our ambassadors,” Tyagnibok said.
