American “hawks” are already preventing Trump from improving relations with Russia
The American establishment will accept if Trump changes US policy towards Europe or China, but will not allow this to happen towards Russia. Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev wrote about this on his Facebook page.

Rex Tillerson, head of the ExxonMobil oil campaign. Kosachev believes that his candidacy, which is “encouraging” for Russia, will not receive a key recommendation from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
“First, a restrained comment from the head of the Committee, Republican Bob Corker, who is well known to me for his balanced approaches: “This is a very bright personality.” And then - the reaction from the former chairman of the Committee, Democrat Robert Menendez (and to block any decision in the Committee, three “against” from the other party are enough): “It’s absurd and alarming, Russia will have a zealous assistant.” He was immediately supported by the head of the Armed Services Committee, Republican (!) John McCain: “Tillerson’s connections with Russia are a cause for concern,” writes Kosachev.
He believes that the Senate and House of Representatives will be Trump's main opponents in his new foreign policy.
“Trump will be allowed to behave differently with European NATO allies, and even with China, but not with Russia. Any attempts to improve relations with our country will be interpreted as contrary to US national interests. And this is the main problem of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama-Clinton America,” Kosachev wrote.
