Aksyonov introduced a state border regime between Crimea and Kherson. What does it mean
Checkpoints in the North of Crimea are switching to state border operation mode.
This follows from a decree by the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, published on the official portal of the republic's government, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

A special travel regime between Crimea and the Kherson region is being introduced “in order to localize security threats.”
The checkpoints are designated “Armensk”, “Dzhankoy” and “Perekop”, and outside of them it is prohibited to cross the administrative border. At checkpoints, as before, passport control and inspection of vehicles and luggage are carried out.
“Formally, nothing will change for passengers and trucks. Today, inspection activities are carried out at the entry/exit checkpoints on the borders of the peninsula,” explained the former Minister of Transport of Crimea, and now the head of the cargo carriers association, Anatoly Tsurkin.
“The Decree once again makes clear the list of required documents for citizens and transported goods when crossing these checkpoints. Crossing a checkpoint is equivalent to the regulations for crossing the state border. It is also worth noting that no customs procedures are carried out here, although employees of the Federal Customs Service are present at the checkpoint and have the right to carry out legality and verification of transported goods,” he emphasized.
The decree contains a list of documents required to cross the administrative border between Crimea and the Kherson region.
Foreign citizens or stateless persons must have valid identification documents recognized in the Russian Federation. Citizens of the Russian Federation have valid passports. For military personnel, law enforcement officers, and security agencies - a service ID, a travel ID, an official assignment or a combat order. Citizens of the Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic who do not have citizenship of the Russian Federation must have a passport of a citizen of the DPR, an identity card of the LPR, a birth certificate for persons under 16 years of age.

The conditions for crossing the state border must be provided by the directorate for the construction and operation of Rosgranitsa facilities with the participation of the Ministry of Transport of Crimea.
