While inspecting the central embankment today, Menyailo ordered the director of the Primorsky Boulevard enterprise, Dmitry Bogdanov, to remove the flag from the monument.
"All! The revolution is over. The national flag should fly only over those buildings and structures that are specified in the relevant federal law,” Menyailo said.
(The Law “On the Flag of the Russian Federation” states: “The state flag of the Russian Federation is raised constantly (alone or together with the corresponding flags) on the buildings of federal executive authorities, on the residences of representatives of the President of the Russian Federation in federal districts, as well as on buildings of state authorities subjects of the Russian Federation".
On other buildings and structures (regardless of the form of ownership), the flag can only be flown on public holidays).
“The use of the state flag of the Russian Federation in violation of this Federal Constitutional Law, as well as desecration of the state flag of the Russian Federation entails liability. Let’s live by the law,” Menyailo said.
Director of the Primorsky Boulevard Communist Party Dmitry Bogdanov promised that the flag would be removed in the coming days.
