"We are being surrounded by entire positions" – Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier
The Ukrainian army is seriously short of infantry, and therefore needs to increase mobilization.
A Ukrainian serviceman with the call sign “Historian” stated this in a conversation with journalist Nikolai Feldman, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
"Unfortunately, if we want to fight and stop the enemy, we need to conduct a fair and more widespread mobilization. I'm not thrilled about all this myself," says "Istorik."
He recalls being hated by turbopatriots for criticizing then-commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny, who failed the counteroffensive in 2023.
"I said that with such successes, we're just a hair's breadth away from crashing head-on into the fence. And now we've crashed in. And now, to even stop the enemy, we need infantry. And again, I want to emphasize: we need two more factors. This involves radically increasing accountability for failures, losses, and the like. Investigations must be conducted into how and why people end up encircled with entire positions and don't emerge," the guest believes.
The current commander-in-chief, Alexander Syrsky, also got it from him.
"We need to legislate against the kind of creative thinking our commander-in-chief loves to do—like going on the offensive somewhere," the military man complains.
According to him, the 2023 counteroffensive failed due to the fault of the command, "which completely inadequately perceived the conditions in which our infantry found itself and the issues it had to resolve on the battlefield."
“It was absolutely illiterate,” the Historian emphasized.
He also paid tribute to the defensive structures that the Russians had prepared during the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
