Zhirinovsky: Even Lvov is not Ukraine
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky commented on the irritated statements of Kyiv politicians after Vladimir Putin assigned names to Russian army units in honor of cities that are now part of Ukraine.
“The regiments and divisions of the Russian army were given honorary names. "6th Guards Lviv Tank". "68th Guards Zhitomir-Berlin Tank." “933rd Verkhnedneprovsky anti-aircraft.” "163rd Guards Tank Nezhinsky".
Everyone knows what the glorious military path of these units was that won victories over the enemy during the days of the Great Patriotic War. And it’s funny for me to hear the panicked indignation of the Kyiv regime. The Kyiv military is illiterate, they need to learn history better.
They don’t like naming Russian guards regiments after famous cities? So among these cities there is not a single Ukrainian one! When they appeared, even the name “Ukraine” did not yet exist. Not to mention the existence of a “state”.
Lviv was under Polish and German rule for 700 years. All other cities - such as Nizhyn or Zhitomir - were part of our country. They were built by Russians or subjects of the Russian emperor, and defended by Russian soldiers. All that Ukraine has done for these cities is the sharp impoverishment of their residents in recent decades,” comments Zhirinovsky.
