Brutal beating in the Moscow metro. Will the perpetrators escape punishment?
Three Dagestanis brutally beat 25-year-old Roman Kovalev in the Moscow metro at the Pervomaiskaya station.
The incident occurred while the train was moving, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The girl reprimanded the noisy men because they behaved impudently, talked loudly and swore. After that they tried to strangle the girl, but Kovalev stood up for her. Then they started beating Kovalev. Everything happened in front of the passengers, who were also threatened with beating if they tried to intervene (no one, however, tried).
It is known that all three - Magamaali Khanmagomedov, Ibragim Musalaev and Gasan Zalibekov - were previously convicted of theft and beatings in their homeland. They were detained right on the subway. Now a preventive measure has been chosen for all three, and a criminal case has been opened under the article “Hooliganism.”
It is likely that they will soon be released on their own recognizance (usually Moscow courts choose exactly this preventive measure under this article), and they will be able to hide in Dagestan.
Kovalev was admitted to the hospital. He has broken facial bones. His girlfriend said he would be in the hospital for at least 10 days.
“Then it’s all classics. During the arrest, he rushed at the police with a knife. They didn't shoot. They put one of the three in a temporary detention facility, the rest went by metro to “earn money.” We are waiting for news that Roman Kovalev “shouted Nazi slogans and insulted on ethnic grounds.” I hope that at least the girl for whom Roman stood up did not run away and take money to change her testimony,” military correspondent Dmitry Steshin commented on the incident.
TV presenter Andrei Medvedev assures that the case is under special control, and the perpetrators will not escape punishment.
“The case of the beating of Roman Kovalev, who stood up for a girl, in the metro, can be reclassified from “hooliganism” to “attempted murder.” Thanks to the police officers, thanks to the investigation. We see everything, we appreciate everything. Work, brothers.

Political scientist Sergei Karnaukhov proposes to make the trial of the Dagestanis demonstrative.
“Let’s now try not to let this situation slip out of our attention. Show trials are needed to educate them. They need to hammer into their heads the awareness of the inevitability and severity of punishment. In the meantime, they will perceive everything with a grin.
They don’t care about all our fines, public reprimands, and correctional labor. At the first opportunity, they will pack up and go to where this video has already made them heroes that everyone is proud of,” he wrote.
