Tymchuk’s wife confirmed: her husband went on a drinking binge due to depression and shot himself
The common-law wife of MP Dmytro Tymchuk told investigators that he was depressed on the day of his death and shot himself, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported by the Ukrainskaya Pravda publication with reference to the materials of the criminal case.
“She (the cohabitant - Ed) dissuaded the latter from attempting to commit suicide. However, at about 12.00 Tymchuk shot himself,” it says.
It is also reported that at the time of the shot the woman was in the room next to Tymchuk.
According to her, the deputy had recently been abusing alcohol. On the day of his death, he began drinking alcohol in the morning, refused to go to work, and was depressed. During conversations, Timchuk expressed suicidal intentions.
The woman reported the incident to a friend and assistant to the people's deputy. She knows nothing about the conflicts and debt obligations of the deceased.
Let us recall that after the death of Tymchuk, his fellow party member Anton Gerashchenko wrote that the people’s deputy shot himself while cleaning his award weapons. The Popular Front faction also stated that their deputy was killed. The version of the murder of the people’s deputy by “enemy agents” was actively supported by the leader of the far-right National Corps, Andrei Biletsky. For their part, the version that Tymchuk could have been killed was also supported by supporters of the DPR.
