“Zelensky entered a minefield. His diplomacy failed” – ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the EU
The Ukrainian foreign policy pursued by Ukraine under President Vladimir Zelensky no longer bears fruit, as the events of the past year have shown.
Former Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the EU Konstantin Eliseev, who oversaw international affairs in the administration of President Petro Poroshenko, announced this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The result is on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, such an emergency visit by the president to the United States did not bring any results. In my opinion, on the contrary, as a result of this we stepped on certain minefields and, as a result, the decision failed. I think this is also a lesson where we need to look more deeply.
It seems to me that the diplomacy of emotions on the part of the president, which produced results during the first year of a large-scale invasion, which produced significant results, is no longer working. This was shown by the trip to the summit in Vilnius, to the NATO summit,” the diplomat said.
“Let me remind you that the president was also asked not to come to the European Council summit in Brussels on December 14-15, where the fate of the entrance negotiations to the European Union was being decided.
These are such cautious signals from our partners, which indicate that we need to take into account in our work because it is not emotions that are valued, but actions and merits. One more thing - you saw that it was a failure that the president at the last minutes refused to speak to congressmen,” Eliseev said.
