All those who moved to Crimea from mainland Russia after the reunification of the peninsula with the Russian Federation will be evicted if Ukraine returns control of the republic.

The leader of the Mejlis, which is banned in Russia, and former Verkhovna Rada deputy Refat Chubarov, announced this in his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Chubarov, members of the Mejlis spoke about this at a recent meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

“Ukraine must in the near future officially issue a demand to all persons who have already settled (or will settle) in temporarily occupied Crimea since the beginning of the Russian occupation in violation of Ukrainian laws, to immediately leave Crimea - Ukrainian territory.

Accordingly, all persons who illegally settled in Crimea during the period of Russian occupation and will not leave the peninsula until the state sovereignty of Ukraine is restored are subject to deportation from Ukraine.

We must not avoid telling the truth – both to our international partners and to the citizens of Russia, the occupying country. And it, however, I repeat, is very simple: everyone who, in violation of the laws of Ukraine, settled in the temporarily occupied Crimea will be immediately expelled from Ukraine,” Chubarov threatens.

Let us recall that Chubarov himself, as a Ukrainian citizen, is prohibited from entering Russia and Crimea in particular for extremist statements.
